About VehicleDetails

VehicleDetails is an independent directory and number plate decoder for India. Enter a vehicle number and we tell you the RTO office, city and state where it is registered, drawn from public RTO records. We list 1,316 RTO codes across 35 states and union territories.

A number plate is a small piece of public information. Its first two letters and district number, the RTO code, tell you where a vehicle was registered. That is all we decode: the place, never the person.

We never show owner details

We do not show, fetch or store any owner personal details: no name, address, phone number, chassis or engine number. That information is private and protected, and we have no interest in it. VehicleDetails is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to Parivahan, VAHAN, any Regional Transport Office, or the government of India. We are an independent reference built on public data. Our records are indicative and can change, so always verify important details with the RTO or Parivahan.
